Usage and Biology

2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase E1/E2 component is encoded by odh, which catalyzes the E1 and E2 reactions as part of 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase (ODH) activity to convert 2-oxoglutarate to succinyl-CoA and CO2. According to Kim J, odhA antisense RNA expression raises the glutamate production by C. glutamicum as raw material of γ-Polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA) manufacturing.
